The expansion will include two berths, ship loaders, and conveyor lines, committed exclusively to quebec ore ore shipments.
This expansion will allow for larger vessels to dock quebec ore quenec Port that have more shipping capacity. This will be the only dock on the entire east coast of North Quebec ore that the Chinamax vessel will be able to use, due to the size of the ship.
The Pointe-Noire handling facility will help manage the product, with mining and processing facilities located in western Labrador.
The terminal facility will be built for receiving, unloading, stockpiling and quebec ore concentrate for ship loading. The terminal facility will consist of a railcar unloading stub track, a single rotary car dumper, a concentrate storage yard with stacker-reclaimer and interconnecting conveyor systems.
The facility has a capacity quebec ore up to 15 million tonnes, but the has the ability to scale up as needed by companies that have quebec ore partnerships for use. A long-range engineering study to increase the capacity to million tonnes is currently underway. Photo of the Pointe-Noire Facility.
